The Texas Society for Music Theory will hold its 45th annual meeting at Texas A&M University in Kingsville. The keynote address will be given by Frank Lehman of Tufts University.

The conference will be held in a hybrid in-person/online format. Presenters are asked to travel to Kingsville. Those not presenting may participate in person or virtually. All paper sessions, including the keynote and pedagogy sessions, will be livestreamed.

Location:

The in-person meeting will be held at the Texas A&M University campus in Kingsville, TX. All sessions will take place in the Music Education Complex on campus (and not the Bellamah Music Building!). An online campus map is available via the TAMUK website. Parking on campus will be exclusively available at the Parking Lot "A" located on the corner of N. Armstrong St. and West Avenue A. Please see this map for the exact location. You do not need a permit to park in this lot for the duration of the conference, and it is free of charge.

A TSMT luncheon will be held on Friday, March 3 and will feature home-style lasagna, served with traditional garden salad, garlic breadsticks, and dessert. There is also a vegetarian choice available, but you must select your option in advance. The luncheon cost per person is $25 for regular registrants and $10 for students. Note that dining options within walking distance are limited. If you wish to attend the luncheon, please select the appropriate option along with your registration.

To participate in the luncheon, registration must be completed and paid by Thursday, February 16, 2023.

The Texas A&M-Kingsville meeting location is at 775 N. Armstrong St., Kingsville, TX.

If traveling by air, Corpus Christi International Airport (CRP) is a regional airport and the closest airport to Kingsville. Kingsville is a 40-minute drive from the airport. See the airport information page for rental car options. There are also taxi services from the airport to Kingsville.

If traveling on Greyhound, the bus stops at a gas station next to an Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Check Enterprise Kingsville hours and rates should you want to rent a car in Kingsville. Hotels are not in walking distance to the university. For in-town shuttle service from your hotel to the university, contact Paisano Transit (361) 595-8574. This shuttle only operates 8:00am-4:00pm, and requires a 24-hour notice. After hours, you may find Uber and Lyft car services.

The group block covers checking in on March 2 and departing on March 4. The cut off date for this special rate is January 30.
